Foodies and K-culture enthusiasts in Southern California, assemble! Mega Mart La Habra is officially set to open its doors in late October 2026, bringing a sprawling 40,981-square-foot “Next-Gen K-Market” to the heart of Orange County.

Taking over the former Amazon Fresh location at 1610 W. Imperial Hwy. #100, this marks the 50-year-old Korean retail giant’s very first footprint in Southern California—and its 6th location across the United States.

Live Tuna Shows, K-Beauty, and Rice Bakeries: What to Expect

Back by Nongshim Group, one of Korea’s biggest food conglomerates, Mega Mart La Habra isn’t just another grocery store—it’s an immersive cultural experience built for both Korean Americans and non-Korean shoppers alike.

Here’s a sneak peek at what’s waiting inside:

  • Curated K-Beauty Hub: Skip the overseas shipping fees. The beauty zone will stock trending Korean skincare and suncare brands tailored specifically to California’s sunny climate.

  • Artisanal Rice Bakery & K-Deli: From rice-flour bread and artisanal sourdough to traditional Korean sul-bbang (steamed rice liquor cake), fresh kimbap, and ready-to-eat comfort food, the deli section promises a full sensory overload.

  • Direct Air-Freight Produce & K-BBQ: Enjoy fresh farm produce flown directly from South Korea alongside premium meat cuts for your home K-BBQ nights.

Why La Habra? The Launchpad for SoCal Expansion

Why pick La Habra for their SoCal debut? Mega Mart officials highlighted the area’s dense Korean American population and excellent accessibility for neighboring hubs like La Mirada, Brea, Fullerton, and Buena Park.

“While our exact opening date isn’t finalized, we are targeting late October,” shared Mega Mart manager Egon Lee. “As a late entrant to the SoCal market, we are focused on creating a modern, distinctly Korean shopping experience that offers fresh releases straight from Korea.”

And this is just the beginning. Mega Mart has already confirmed plans to expand further into Southern California, with future locations eyeing heavy hitter spots like Los Angeles and Irvine.
