Law Enforcement is the largest supporter of fundraising for Special Olympics. Last year Law Enforcement raised $1,300,000 for Special Olympics. $500 covers an athlete for one year with uniform, practices, facilities, food, travel, hotel stays and competition at no cost to the athletes or their families.
Special Olympics athletes live long and healthier lives than people with similar disabilities who are not involved in sports. They also stay in school longer, are more likely to have a job and can live more independently than others in their situation. Special Olympics really helps mentally challenged athletes live to their full potential.
La Habra is really a Caring Community in their generosity to Special Olympics and Tip-a-Cop.
